The Olentzero is a traditional nativity character of Navarra and the Basque Country, responsible for bringing gifts to the children on Christmas Day. He is believed to be a collier who lives isolated from society, dedicated to making charcoal in the forest, and who likes to eat and drink well. He only comes down to the villages in the winter, coinciding with Christmas.
