Boxing is a martial art and combat sport in which two people wearing protective gloves throw punches at each other in a boxing ring. In general, boxers are prohibited from hitting below the belt, holding, tripping, pushing, biting, or spitting. Boxing is supervised by a referee over a series of one-to-three-minute intervals called rounds. Since it is quite a violent sport, the violations of the regulation may be ruled “fouls”, causing an automatic loss. At first, boxing was exclusively for male, but the recognition of women’s equal rights has permitted their incorporation.
