Caganer Carme Forcadell

Maria Carme Forcadellis a Catalan linguist, activist, and pro-independence politician who served as Speaker of the Parliament of Catalonia from 2015 to 2018. She is the founder of the Platform for the Catalan Language and a member of Òmnium Cultural in Sabadell; she also presided over the Catalan National Assembly until 2015. Following Catalonia's Declaration of Independence on October 27, 2017, she was investigated by the Supreme Court for alleged crimes of rebellion and sedition. On March 23, 2018, the Supreme Court ordered her imprisonment.
