Product details
The Eurasian eagle-owl is the largest bird in the owl family and tends to nest in natural cavities. Here in Torroella de Montgrí, we have a karst cave, the Cau del Duc (the Eagle Owl's Lair), known for having been inhabited by Mesolithic prehistoric humans and for recently housing a huge owl. This nocturnal, solitary, and sedentary bird of prey usually eats rats, rabbits, or, if it's lucky, hares, squirrels, moles, and hedgehogs. It is currently a protected species.
