Caganer Peasant

This peasant wearing a white shirt, a belt, a barretina (Catalan traditional hat) and espadrilles depicts the most typical Caganer in the Catalan tradition, one of the most ancient trades that remains worthy and necessary. However, it is not easy to work in the field: whether women, men, girls and boys need perseverance and thick skin to vigorously struggle with seasonal crops. This caganer stands for a little girl full of energy and pride who, halfway between her house and the field, has decided to come to a standstill and fertilize the land a little.
