Typical Catalan

This section is full of Caganers performing what could be categorized as typical Catalan moments, that is to say, drinking with a porró (a tradicional jug), proudly posing with a hoe, dressing up as a skeleton that only comes out on Easter or as for the troupes in Vilanova i la Geltrú, searching snails in a leafy forest, and even wearing a Barretina, the most characteristic hat in Catalonia. Legend has it that originally a farmer used to defecate every single day in a different area to spread luck and fate in his orchard and bring hapiness all over the place. In this very section, we tie the catalan tradition and the Caganer’s legend together to depelop our own symbology.
